about
once Erika found a graphite pencil and the passion for art was ignited she never stopped dreaming of being an artist. If she ever ran out of paper to draw on in school, Erika would draw all over her own body and clothes. She went on to graduate from New York University with a degree in Graphic Design & Studio Art.
a modern day nomad, Erika feels most at home where ever she is that moment. It is traveling and life experiences that mostly influences her work. Recent trips to Amsterdam, Japan and London have inspired Erika to explore the areas of food, markets and consumer culture. She is also influenced by her readings, intellectual pursuits, health & fitness and PBS's Nova.
in 2010, Erika's life took a sad turn as her beloved mother passed away from lung cancer. However, not one to take things lying down, Erika was determined to attack life and finally peruse her passion. Her first step was to attend an Art & Business course at Sotheby's Institute of Art in London. She now has set her sights on completing a Masters of Fine Arts.
ever the athlete, Erika has enjoyed a life-long passion for swimming. Most recently, she joined a relay team that swam across the English Channel. It only took them 12 hours and 32 minutes to make it across.
these recent developments have given Erika a new outlook on life and she can't wait to see what the future has in store.
